A series of soundwalks in New Westminster, BC - the unceded traditional territory of the Qayqayt and other Coast Salish peoples.
Intro
These Beats Were Made for Walking (TBWMFW) is a series of soundwalks that combine a continuous field recording of a soundscape along a specific route overdubbed with select songs mixed to compliment both the pace, feel and transitional nature of the spaces moved through.
Intended to be listened to whilst walking the route, each piece offers the walker - and listener, an alternate soundtrack to the rhythm of the city pulled from my record collection.
Each walk is intended to be completed at a moderate pace. Where possible time indicators have been given to pace yourself.
